Job Type:
PHP, Perl/CGI, Javascript, XML
Description:

HostRocket.Com - 1000MB - $4.99

I am in need of a very reliable, and professional programmer proficient in
CGI/PERL (among other languages) and familiar with manipulation of smartsearch
scripts for customization. I have a couple of small jobs needed to be done in a
relatively short amount of time preferably.
I need to be able to easily communicate with the programmer (preferably via MSN
or Yahoo). Here's the information about what I would like to be integrated into
my search engine scripts:
1. I want to be able to block (and possibly log) all anonymous proxies without
those anonymous users being able to access any part of the site where they can
click search terms etc. I had a 'proxy guard' installed and it is highly
inefficient and overpriced. I need something that is fullproof in the sense
that it can not be manipulated by outside code (like javascript can be used in
this way). Also included I would like to be able to block individual sites by
DOMAIN NAME only and not IP address (as several sites on the same server with
the same IP will be blocked if by IP Address, and I want to prevent this).
2. Along with this, I would like to integrate a detailed click statistics
section for affiliates (see attached file "stats.gif" for a better idea).
Basically, in the attachment, I have included a screenshot of two different
tables that I would like to easily customize in terms of design, color, font etc
- but the basic layout is there.
When the affiliate logs in (and I suppose for the advertiser too if it is not
much more trouble) - they can search between a selected date, month and year and
it will bring up stats in smartsearch for the date,# of clicks, and earnings
only.
I would like to make this area much more detailed for the affiliates. When you
look at the attached image, the top image is what I would like to be displayed
when affiliate searches through specified dates for stats.
Please keep in mind, the layout is all I am looking for - not specifically
exactly as is. This is to give a general idea of what I would like to have.
The top image is from left to right, a table with:
Date / Clicks / Searches / Earnings / EPC (Earn Per Click)
I'd like to have this kind of format, perhaps replacing 'Clicks' with 'Valid
Clicks' and have it link to another page that opens in a new window where I'd
like the layout for the second image (bottom image) to be displayed.
That layout is the same though the column headings will be different:
I want to add in the following columns to this second detailed stats page:
Time (hours/min/sec) / keyword (clicked whether was a valid or invalid click) /
The Amount of click that was earned from keyword clicked ( if invalid then zero)
/ the IP Address /
I also have in the example which country that click came from (but this is not
really necessary, though, it would be nice to have that feature in my admin area
where I view my traffic stats)
Also, I would then like to color code each row appropriately to a key that can
be displayed at the bottom.
For example, If a row is highlighted in green - it means it was accepted as a
valid click, if a row is highlighted in red - it means it came from an
open/anonymous proxy, if a row is highlighted in blue - it came from a country
we do not accept and do not pay for, if it is highlighted in orange, it means
there was no referring url, and if it is highlight in purple, it means that
there were excessive clicks from the same user in a short period of
time...things like that.
So, when the stats are displayed to the affiliate, it would color code each one
according to the parameters set in the color key.
For a better idea, please refer to the attachment.
I think that is all for now. I most likely will be coming back to have more
work done if it is by someone who can be counted on and who does a great job.
I would like this job to be started on immediately, or the sooner the better :)
Thanks!

Additional Info (Added 11/14/2004 at 23:45 EST)...

I
have forgotten about referral clicks for the stats - I would like to also add
another section to show affiliates how many clicks (just the number of referral
clicks and how much they earned from those referral clicks) - if they have more
than 1 referral, I would like each referral listed on a separate row just one
time with total clicks for that day they are look at. Currently with
smartsearch scripts, they are set so you can view your total clicks, but puts
each referral click and click value earned for each click by referral there. I
want it to do the exact opposite. Although it is nice to see how much you are
earning from each click from your referrals, I think it is much more important
to see that kind of detail for your referred clicks. So, would like to
implement that into tables as well.
Thanks again!

Additional Info (Added 11/16/2004 at 17:06 EST)...

I
have decided, after weighing many of the pros and cons associated with it, I
would like to make the stats much less detailed as one potential way to reduce
fraud clicks because it will show the affiliates exactly how much each keyword
is worth which will more likely lead to targeting.
So, Please disregard everything having to do with displaying stats to the
affiliate. Instead of all that above, when they search their stats, I want them
to be able to see just the date, number of searches, number of clicks, amount
earned, as well as their epc (earn per click).
Also, if they have referrals, then I would like for them to see a daily total of
the number of clicks their referral(s) generated that day laid out just like
their own stats with each row across designated to each different referral.
So example could be like this:
Date Searches Clicks Earnings EPC
11-01-04 3482 354 $18.6184 $0.05259
That's it! Please accept my apologies for all the above info about the detailed
stats etc - I would not like to have this done.
I would still like to try to incorporate the domain blocking, anonymous/open
proxy blocking, and would like to add to this clickbot protection/clickbot
access denied if possible.
Sorry again for the confusion :)
Thanks!
