------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --This project will be self-integrated into Mambo CMS (http://www.mamboserver.com/)-- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello all, I'v had a dream once, to own my own cooking website. I really love cooking and culinary related topics, however coding is not really my best best skill, cooking is :) It has come to my attention that such services as this exist, and I'v decided to give it a try. So, below you will find a list of all the specific litte details for this project. I think I'v listed everything that came to my head, but if something is unclear, don't be shy to contact me. -Wojtek ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** Transfer XML -> MySQL - Curently the recipes database is spread over 10 .xml files. - Make sure that each xml tag is conserved in the database. For example each ingredient has 3 subfields: quantity, mesurement, name: they must be kept in the database seperatly. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 272,000 entries in the XML database currently. Some will be lost. You have permission to get rid of the bad-formated ones, ones missing critical info and so on. I expect at least 260,000+ recipes in the final database. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** Recipe browsing. In the following order: page with links to main categories -> page with subcategories -> recipe. - Recipe browsing will be based on keywords. Each recipe's xml entry has a keywords tag. This entry will be removed. Instead it will be replaced by a nested hierarchy. Ex: Soups->Oriental->Grandma's Oriental Soup. the recipe's keyword field would contain 'oriental soup' in this case. But its not always that easy. Up to the coder to translate the keyword entry into a working browsing method, you'r free to do it your way) - Recipe must have a static url. - Sections can be accessed 'verbally', for example www.bla.com/recipes.php?cat=Soup would display the Soup CATEGORY, www.bla.com/recipes.php?cat=Soup&sub=Oriental would goto the Oriental SUBCATEGORY of the Soup category, and so on. - Recipe can be accessed directly by it's Unique, non changing ID: www.bla.com/recipes.php?r=1003 for example. ** Recipe searching, 2 styles. - Standart. One box quick-search returns matches in the title (recipename field in xml/sql) - Advanced Search. lets users search by name, category, method, and can choose to return results with or without a certain specific ingrediant. ** The page containing the recipe has: - Recipe itself - Recipe picture (if available, if none show 'click here to submit picture') - Recipe rating (everyone) - Recipe commenting (members only) - e-mail to friend - add/remove to personnal bookmark (for the user account system) - print recipe (goes to blank formated page with logo, recipe, url) - portion/ingredients calculator (portion*2 would echo each ingredient quantity*2) - ingredient calculator lb->kg, tbs->g, etc, etc, etc depending on context. ** At this point recipes have no pictures. Make an extra field in the MySQL DB for that) ** Rating system is open to everyone on a 1 to 10 stars system - on the page listing recipes (subcategory) display the rating - on the recipe page, display the rating - the rating is of course an average of all the votes a recipe received. ** Commenting is only open to members. Only members can leave comments on recipes. ** User's account has a page with their bookmarked recipes listed by category, submitted recipes by them along with a link to that recipe they can right-click -> copy link and paste where needed, and so on. (userpage.php) - Once again it'll be using Mambo's user system, so the coder will have to keep that in mind and work alongside Mambo's scripting and user authenticating system. ** Recipe submission system. (For Members Only) Users can submit recipes. When they submit, recipes go into a temporary database. An admin section (for ME) opens that database and lets me approve/reject submitted recipes wich is then added into its corresponding category in the main mysql recipes database. The submission form will have to have all the fields the mysql database will have, including the 3-way ingredient system (quantity, mesurement, name), 10 fields initially, expendable +5 with a click on a link or something?? ** Show Top100 recipes page based on ranking ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think that covers everything. I don't need any design or anything. Just the working 'backbone' on plain white .php pages so I will be able to easily integrate into my current design and into Mambo CMS. Attached you will find a sample of my xml database. So you can see it's layout and if you will be able to handle the job. Related Projects: This project is the proprietary information of .
