Description: |
I need some coding done for the backend of a site. 1. Script to parse an XML feed, and add data to a MySQL database table. The table's name will come from an identifier tag in the feed. Then, for example, tag 'description' would correspond with column 'description' in the table named after the identifier. If the table exists, overwrite the columns which overlap (but leave others intact). It table doesn't exist, create it, then populate it. 2. I have a list of images hosted on remote URLs in a SQL table. When I use these images in my HTML, I want them to be cached on my server the first time they are called. For example, instead of calling img src="example.com/image.jpg", the script would check "myhostingexample.com/images/table/image.jpg" first to see if it was cached on my server and display this if present. If not, it'd download the image to a folder created for that table, and resize the image to my specification. This would need to be on the fly, so that images are cached locally the first time they are called, and images that are never called are not cached. 3. Script to scrape a particular value from a list of URLs in a SQL table. This would work through the URLs searching for a keyphrase (need a different phrase for each table). The value immediately afterwards would then be written to a dedicated column in the same table. This script should follow the robots standard on number of server requests over time. I have a freeware PHP scraper script if you wish, so I anticipate this one being pretty straightforward. No design work is required. A very, very basic page to demo these scripts is fine. I'll be using CSS later for layout of the whole site. I'm not looking to spend big bucks on this project at present, but if the site is a success then it will lead to further work in future. Basic functionality is more important than fancy features right now. Please ask if you require clarification about anything. Related Projects: This project is the proprietary information of .
