PHP 5, MySQL, Google Maps, Java, AJAX, XML & XHTML Strict.
Start template http://www.karenhawes.com/template/index.html. Not all details
included here or on this proposal.
There would be a "User Profile" and a profile for each "Tracked-Item". Users log
in using their e-mail account and a password only; verification by e-mail would
also be required, to confirm a new user.
In the User's Profile, they would have two tables:
1) a "Watch List" of items they have not registered in their name
2) a list of "Registered" items they have registered in their name (must know
the four identifier)
Each Tracked-Item has four identifiers:
1) Language
2) Theme
3) 16-digit ID (can break into four groups of 4-digits)
4) 4-digit PIN
For each Tracked-Item, there are up to 30 recipients who can register for it.
Each registered recipient would include the following additional information,
via their User Profile page:
* Required
*1) an entry-line number (1-30)
*2) Date
3) City
4) State/province
5) Country
6) Comment
*7) Lat
*8) Lon
#9) small gif/jpg image
#10) hyperlink
#11) Comment
12) Select to "let the other 29 registered users contact me anonymously"
13) upload image 1 (only the 30th registered user can do this)
14) upload image 2 (only the 30th registered user can do this)
15) button to "Update Entry" (changed to "Edit Entry" when done)

There would be additional buttons and check boxes for each Tracked-Item on the
"Registered Items" table:
1) donate
2) delete item from list ("are you sure?" check)
3) show Tracked-Item's Profile
4) send me updates for item, when updates are made
5) request to be able to create a Tracked-Item (certain criteria must be met, to
be eligible; if okay, must select a language and theme to get assigned a batch
of 16-digit IDs with a 4-digit PIN, plus further instructions)
When a person donates, they get an icon on their entry line and can add a
comment, which pops up on the Tracked-Item's Profile.
For the "Watch List" only items 2-4 (from above) are available.
Both lists would also display (cannot edit) the date of the last update and
total distance traveled**
There are additional options for the User's Profile page in general:
1) send updates about site
2) change e-mail
3) change password
4) delete profile ("are you sure?" check)
There would be a mini Google Map on all pages for the site, for finding the
Lat/Lon coordinates (users manually enter the lat/lon they need).
** distance provided in km and miles
For the Tracked-Item Profile, it would show a table displaying items 1-6, in
order (1-30); an icon indicating that they donated (blank if not); the time
lapsed between entries; the distance between entries**. Above the table is a
Google Map that would display the pin/Info Window for each entry that is
registered, plus polylines connecting the pins, in order (1-30).
The Tracked-Item Profile would also include the following information:
1) total distance traveled from start to latest/last entry **
2) total time lapsed between start and latest/last entry
3) a button to "add this item to my "Watch List" (must register/be registered)
4) a button to "add an entry to this item's profile" (must register/be
registered and provide PIN)
5) view image 1 (if available)
6) view image 2 (if available)
Version 1 is in English. Later, other languages will be added.
