Brief Overview ------------------- Blog site operates a text to voice synthesis program. Users make posts which can be spoken back to them by the site. In addition, users can view most recent posts and also view by tag cloud. What is REQUIRED -------------------------- (1) Site design. Convert the existing photoshop files to a WordPress site. Either as a template or uploaded files. (2) Integration of the following PLUGINS listed below (3) Confirmation that the site functions according to the FEATURES section below Site design files uploaded as blogball.zip, please make sure you review before posting. Plug-ins that NEED to be installed: --------------------------------------- (1) Live WordPress Plugin, mentioned below, can provide a live view of statistical activity on your blog. (2) WP-UserOnline WordPress Plugin displays how many users are online at any time, where they are and, if registered, who they are. This is great for highly interactive, member-oriented blogs. (3) TDO http://wp-plugins.net/?filter=tdo This plugin allows you to add a form to your website that allows non-registered users and/or subscribers (configurable) to submit posts. The posts are kept in "draft" until an admin can publish them (also configurable). (4) Simple Tagging Widget (tag cloud) This is a Widget plugin to show a tag cloud generated by the WordPress plugin "Simple Tagging". For this plugin to work there must be the "Simple Tagging" plugin activated (version 1.6.6 or later) and the "Sidebar Widgets" plugin activated as well (or use WP2.2 or later with sidebar widget compatible theme). (5) New Tag Cloud New Tag Cloud is a little WordPress plugin wich provides a widget generating a tag cloud. New Tag Cloud uses the new WordPress own tagging feature, so that you don't need any tagging plaugin. source: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/new-tag-cloud/ (6) Weighted Words This plugin creates a weighted list of commonly-used words in your blog posts. Works for WordPress versions 1.5 and up. It's not just another keyword cloud, though - it pulls words from the text of your posts to expose your embarrassing Valley Girl reliance on things like “totally” and “awesome” Description of blog features NEEDED as follows: ------------------------------------- Now, most of these are covered by the plugins above. The design needs to incorporate them. (1) Users can make actual posts in categories (not comments) without registering - posts to be entered into the text box on the main page - post is then included in its selected tag category or, if it's a new tag, creates a new category (2) tag cloud generated by rank of category titles/headings (largest font text is the 'most popular tag' etc...) (each word in tag cloud links to the associated category) (3) tag category titles listed and ranked according to 'most popular' in the sidebar - each tag category links to a separate corresponding category page that has all the postings in that category - at the end of each of these pages, enter link "BACK to Play Blogball!" which takes the user back to the main page (where the submit text box is located) (4) posts are identified at the bottom with people's names (if provided) including the time and date of post (5) people can listen to postings in the current "Most Popular Tag" category by clicking onto the graphic (loudspeaker icon) next to "Listen to Blogball Vancouver" (order of play starting with most recent to oldest wave file created) (6) When participant presses the 'submit' button this happens (the coding for cepstral has already been done): (a) intiate the cepstral voice software to process the entered text into artificial voice and record a wave file (b) store the wave file on the server (7) I will need a way of deleting a wave file (each wave file to be named by tag word and time of post submitted) (only accessible by moderator / owner of blog) (also, already done) (8) 3 - 4 most recent postings in the current "Most Popular Tag" category are displayed in the LISTEN section of main page. Also, link the category title of the most popular tag (ie: "Camping") to the associated category's page (9) Each of the following titles on the main page is linked to a separate page - About How to Play Rules of the Game For each tag category Where is Blogball? Blogball Tour Schedule Each category title under section "Most Popular Tags" At the end of each of these pages, enter link "BACK to Play Blogball!" which takes the user back to the main page (where the submit text box is located) (10) Link "Play Blogball Vancouver!" on main page to the same page linked from "Where is Blogball?"
