Description:

I would like to have a remote packet capture device. I need a firmware update
for the standard Linksys upgradeable AP's.
I would like the AP to receive all 802.11 packets on a configurable channel and
transmit them via Ethernet. The 802.11 frame will probably have to be
encapsulated in Ethernet so it can be sent to a remote destination but then
viewed.
The eventual output would be to a .dmp file for WireShark, Omnipeek, Air Magnet
etc.

I need to make sure that everyone understands that this device will need to
capture all WiFi traffic, not just traffic destined for the Linksys. In fact, I
want the Linksys to be passive. It doesn't even need the ability to connect to a
wireless device.
So, the functionality would be the Linksys device would be configurable for any
channel, and have the ability to scan channels for a configurable amount of
time.
The Linksys would capture all traffic (know as monitor mode, promiscuous mode)
and transmit it to a remote computer in the form of a .dmp file.
If anyone needs to amend or remove their bids that is understandable.
