Description: |
We need a site built from scratch that will support the launch of a new product. The project includes site design and front and back-end development necessary to complete a site that is ready to release to market. Besides the public web interface, the site will also require admin functionality that includes simple content management features. The content of the site must be modifiable by someone who is not a web/html expert. (i.e. all content needs to be in a database and when in admin mode, the admin can easily alter the content by clicking on the content they want to change, preview the changes, and push live to production). Overall the site needs to have the following sections: * Home page (may include snippets of Testimonials, Blogs, etc) * ~6 pages detailing different use cases / versions for the product * Contact us * About us * Testimontials * Blog * Community Forum * Support * Product Specifications * Product Directions * FAQ * News/Media * Buy it page. Our initial site will not have an actual e-commerce engine. We will be using a partner’s e-commerce functionality but will need a Buy it jump page that has a list of name, product description, picture, price, link to partner e-commerce add-to-cart page, and productid of partner web site. This software should be designed so that multiple partner e-commerce sites could be linked to to buy the product. [In the future, we may want to offer a full e-commerce shopping cart & checkout with our own merchant account plus PayPal plus GoogleCheckout. Please advise on the extra fees if we included that capability.] Site design: The project will include the bidder producing an acceptable site design. This is a consumer technology product and must be a clean, easy-to-use design that is eye-catching and leverages Flash or DHTML technology where appropriate. Examples of sites that we found that have a similar look-and-feel to what we want are: www.apple.com/iphone (we like their design but ours will be somewhat less complicated), www.iriver.com (home page & Clix product), www.drivemocion.com, www.samsung.com. Use of Flash/DHTML should not be overdone (i.e. we are OK if only part of the page is in Flash). Back-End Technology: We expect an ASP.NET (C#) solution and further prefer a system based on an ORM data access layer. (Our favorite ORM is LLBLGen Pro 2.5 but we realize that your solution may use a different ORM or may leverage open-source or proprietary code for Blogs, Content Management, and Forum, etc. We are open to using either open source or commercial software as part of our solution. However, please be explicit about what software packages we would be required to purchase for your bid. Please do not send us “you should do this in PHP” bid responses. For better or worse, we have a .NET team (although we can run under Linux/Mono). We do prefer to use MySQL for the DB layer. [We use MySQL with LLBLGen with other projects and are very happy with the performance (and price point) of the MySQL Db.] Hosting: We have a present hosting provider and are pretty happy but are open to you or your partner hosting the site as well. Please specify whether you would have us host the system or outsource it. We need to complete the project within 25 days of bid acceptance. We have reasonably detailed requirement specifications and will provide those under NDA to top bidders. Be sure your bid includes enough resources and design cycles to complete a project of this scope. We suggest the following process for bidding: 1) Please place an initial bid based on the above specification. Also, with your initial bid, please provide examples of other C# projects of similar scale. We would also request information on the team size and skill levels you will devote to this project, confirmation that the resources are immediately available, and details of how and when your team is available to coordinate project management and tech review sessions. 2) Based on your initial bid, we will narrow the field of bidders. Then we will provide NDAs, and provide a second round of information and specifications after signing the NDA. After each finalist reviews the more detailed specifications, you may update or reaffirm your bid. Then we will make a final decision. 3) Payment terms are flexible. We are happy to put funds for the whole project in escrow, but will expect that most of the payment will be released upon project completion. Please include your payment expectations with your bid. This project is being run by several entrepreneurs with many other software development opportunities. We desire to find a partner that demonstrates success with this project and wants to grow the relationship into other immediate project opportunities for this company and for other firms controlled by the principals. Thank you. Related Projects: This project is the proprietary information of .
