Genealogy company has an immediate need for a self-motivated, organized and conscientious individual to work on a myspace-like project. Work is projects-based and ranges from simple to complex. Job Description: Impliment code similar other community websites into a genealogy type database. Qualified Candidate: Proficient in PHP, JavaScript, HTML and MySQL Excellent understanding of server-side programming. Must write efficient code with documentation. Can read code written by others. Has experience debugging code. Can write code from pseudocode or verbal instructions. Must be a team player, posses a good attitude and be self-disciplined Education is not necessary just a love for PHP and natural programming skills Some info about myself, website, and goals: I am a Genealogist. I own a non profit genealogical society called MyRootsPlace. Our site is www.myrootsplace.com. I had a genealogy community website with Joomla that I installed. We were up to 1600+ members. Joomla and Community Builder aren't working together very well at the moment so I moved some of my community members to www.myrootsplace.me.com Me.com has awesome software. It is similar to Myspace but better. You have the ability to "add a box", leaving you the ability to add code/iframes/ and widgets. Also I'd like to be able to add relatives as well as friends (see photo). Basically this is done through extended profiles. Also I'd like the profiles to have different features than myspace as we are a genealogy community. We'd also need the standard features: Chat, Forums, Blogs, Events, Bulletins, Messaging, Mail etc. I believe that I have a groundbreaking and unique idea and I am willing to possibly partner with the right programmer.
