Description: |
action/drama featuring mainly female leads coming to terms with radical politics/theology in a world of oppressive violence and pervasive sex. Please e-mail samples of your work emphasizing realistic, skilled depictions of the human form, including expressions, hands, and feet, and reflecting your own artistic style and sensibility. The script explores the characters through mature themes and grown-up situations; but in a perfect world, the work would express a synergy of script and art reflecting the writer’s and illustrator’s unique, complementary visions, whether your style is closer to Amanda Conner’s or Tim Vigil’s. Commitment to 64, 96, 128, or 160 pages absorbing b&w line art and/or 2-10 riveting color covers in a reasonable time frame, all acceptable to writer, required; 6”x9” live area, 6.875”x10.5” bleed. For the writer, this is a labor of love and the goal is to break even on a small print run. Pay is negotiable, but expect entry level as reflected in bulletin boards and classified ads on a per-page, work-for-hire basis. Full artist credit in any advertising and final work. Evidence of professional work habits, lettering, and/or Adobe CS3 familiarity/pre-press useful but not necessary. Internet access and freedom from censorship are the only geographic requirements. All submissions answered; position open at least ten days, thereafter until filled.
