I have attached some pics that show its mainfunktions so that you can get a view on what I'm thinking of. This tool needs to run permanentely in the systemtray and needs to stay there even after a reboot. The whole thing should run a shareware.... working for 30 days. After that, it will stay active but all warning and alerts will just be unspecific... so just telling that there is a problem with on of your servers... but not telling any details. You will only get those features while in the 30 days trial periode or after entering a license key. So a key generator, based on the name and email address or so must be provided, too. The alert/warning output should come up in a popup from the tray, no IE popup.... telling you exactly what the problem is, on what server and what actions you can take... like displaying the support phonenumbers, emails, webaddress etc.... see the pics for some more info. The button "more" in the host info" field will lead to another screen showing options for automatically sending an email to the support address when the serverstatus is either dead and/or slow. A field where you can enter a message for the support that will contain all relevant info that are automatically send if this option is activated. A cc field. additional phonenumbers, emails, addresses. Logs should be stored seperately for every url.... The "last change" displayed the date of the last status change. When the trialware is passed, another button will also appear giving the option to switch to addware.... this will display an add in the mainscreen, the settings, all sorts of popups and all emails send to the user. The system will automatically download a small configuration file every day, providing the system with new infos about what add to use of if an update is available. All these infos are stored in a small file, just conatining the link to a banner, the url to link to and a flag if an update is availalbe or not. If this config file is not present, the program will download it immidiately. The system needs to be able to accept several adds stored in the small config file using a random funktion. This config file will also contain the url from where to fetch all the infos... in case this url will ever have to change... If I would know a bit more about that tcp stuff, I would just do it myself as it is not the hardest thing to do..... anyway... just place bit... Oh, jes... unregistered and addware version can handle unlimited urls. Bought versions are split into 20, 50 and unlimited urls. So, the keygenerator needs to handle that, too. Program needs a custom logo for the systemtray and for the program itself. Would be cool if trayicon could blink if an event happens... in case someone switched off all forms of alerts... Guess thats all.... but maybe I have forgotten a tiny thing or so... Additional Info (Added 1/5/2005 at 15:50 EST)... Urls in the mainscreen should be sorted by name.
