This job is about a new server we ordered. This is the setup: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Dual Core 8 GB DDR2 2 x 750 GB SATA II (Hardware RAID 1) Debian 4.0 32 bit Direct Admin This is the problem: We are using that server almost only for mySQL querying. Now when we do queries server intern by using "localhost" as mySQL server everything is fine, but as soon as we query the mySQL server from an extern server the server load kinda explodes in the meaning of loads of over 5 with doing very simple queries at rates of only e.g. 1 query per 2-3 seconds... once again: when doing the same queries from intern by localhost, the server load wouldnīt even change at all... Now your job would be to fix that AND setup the server a way that itīs optimized for receiving and answering external mySQL queries. We assume itīs just one setting that isnīt set a proper way - probably something with the interfaces, but we simply canīt find it. Job should be done the faster the better.
