Hello,
This is just a simple PHP script installation, these are usually pretty easy for
me however this one requires using phpMyAdmin which is where I got lost. The
script is a simple text book exchange for my college. You can view the demo
site at www.westernbookexchange.com .
The instructions are as follows:
Installation Instructions
-------------------------
1) Download the latest version.
2) Unzip the file with any unziping utility.
3) Copy the pages from "php pages" into a folder on your server.
4) Use phpMyAdmin to import the database structure from "database
dump/collegeex.sql". This can be a multiple step process but isn't too
difficult.
5) Edit "mySQLinfo.php" to connect to your MySQL databases. This usually entails
replacing "database", "username", and "password", and sometimes "localhost"
6) CHMOD the following files and folders that are now on your server to "777".
(a few of these files might not exist yet).
*counterlog_index.txt
*counterlog_sold.txt
*books/counterlog_index.txt
*books/counterlog_sold.txt
*house/counterlog_index.txt
*the "/house/images/" folder
7)Customize the i_head.php, i_foot.php and the main.css files to make the site
look good.
P.S. right now this script is not meant to be newby friendly and it is a little
complicated to customize the layout, we are working on that.
