Description: |
I have an oscommerce store with BTS and a few more contributions. My store has approximately 400-500 pieces of merchandise. I would like the oscommerce database installed to the new CRE Loaded 6.1a database. I understand that the two databases are slightly different. When I inquired about how to do this this is the answer I got: The best approach in this circumstance is to take a close look at the database tables. You should be able to transfer much of your data (products, customers, orders) by saving the old database by complete inserts (server settings allowing ), and importing them into a new CRE Loaded database. If its an MS2 site(***mine is***) this is much more doable than if it were MS1. Will also depend on what fields have been added by the other contributions. Margin Report(***do not have margin report but i do have other contributions that i don't care about keeping... i can re-install them..I DO HAVE BTS WHICH THE CRE ALREADY HAS***) for example adds a cost field to the product table. Easy way out is to add the same field to the CRE Loaded database and transfer over, either adding margin report yourself, or just abandoning the field, knowing that the cart will ignore it. While the loaded install should update an unmodified cart, once you have modified, its case by case. Please, only bid on this project if you have prior experience with BOTH oscommerce and CRE Loaded 6.1a and extensive experience in MySQL. Thank you.
