It needs to : * be adapted to the site's look and feel * Have different content types on the site weighted differently - ie pages using script A are moved up in the results. * Be able to tweak weightings for things including keywords in title, keyword density, length of URL (the shorter the higher the weighting). It will run on a clean Athlon 2600 with 512MB of memory, dedicated to the task of taking up to 50,000 searches per day. I don't mind what technology you use (programming language, DB etc) as long as it runs on Red Hat 9 and is stable and reliable and you document exactly what you've done and how to install it on other machines. It will need to crawl the site every week to check for updates. In the results, it should display the page title and below it, the matches of the keywords searched for and surrounding text. Individual searches should take less than 1 second. If you haven't dealt with scalability issues on internal search before, do not bid! Along with your bid, please PMB URLs to other internal searches you have done and name the software you intend to use. You will be paid: * 20% when the look-and-feel has been adapted to the site * 20% when the site is fully indexed and results are in satisfactory order * 60% when load testing is complete and it has gone live.
