Our client has a photo-oriented Hispanic celebrity blog site as his hobby. He has asked us to help him streamline the blog site with an emphasis on reliable image uploading and integrated gallery, fast response with low server loads, efficient anti-spam measures and a SEO-optimized designed that maximizes ad placement. For a quick glance of what the client has in mind as a final result, visit hxxp://www.thesuperficial.com and check gallery templates on hxxp://stopdesign.com/templates/photos/ The client is currently running his blog on b2evolution, but feels a tag-based CMS such as Expression Engine or Movable Type would be optimal in the long run, since both come with gallery, antispam and low server load solutions right out of the box and are intrinsically flexible. For this project however, the programmer can choose the CMS or blog software he is more comfortable with. Other than Expression Engine or Movable Type, the programmer can choose to use b2evolution (currently running the site), WordPress, TextPattern, Mambo, Typo3 or any other platform the programmer thinks would be best for this Hispanic celebrity blog site. To FACILITATE things for the winning programmer, we will PROVIDE the following existing elements, so the code can be used directly as they are or as a base for the programmer to do their own coding: 1. Full working Blog theme (written for WordPress) and matching forum skin. 2. Java menu script (commercial, comes with instructions) 3. Two gallery plugins (for WordPress, with instructions) 4. Set of gallery templates (html with Movable Type tags). 5. Cache system (can use existing WordPress cache plugin, or even better, implement MemCached with instructions). 6. Link directory script (commercial, with instructions) 7. Contact form (WordPress plugin) 8. Google in-post and sitemap generator (WordPress plugins) 9. Import script (WordPress plugin for importing b2evolution data) Gentlemen, please take into account: 1. When pricing your bid, take into account that this is not a commercial blog site, but a personal blog about celebrities, and that the client lives in an underdeveloped Hispanic country. The blog site does not even have a top level domain name, only a country subdomain. (On our side, we have taken this as "pro bono" work ourselves, and will pass along your bid to the client with no markup). 2. Mention your chosen platform and give some details (e.g. right something more descriptive than "can be done"). 3. Whenever possible, provide examples of your previous work that may be relevant to this project. 4. Do suggest your own additions or improvements, please be proactive... it's a blog about Hispanic celebrities, so let's be creative and have fun with the project!
