The Career Path of Freelance Programming Jobs

   Link Directory Script Addon

Bidding Time:
24/03/2006 23:43 - 31/03/2006 23:43
Budget:
N/A
Status:
Closed

Job Type:
Perl/CGI
Description:

500 GB of Hosting for only $4.95/mo.

I'm in need of a programmer who can modify a link directory script that I've
purchased: http://www.focalmedia.net/pseek.html
I need a ratings system added to it. Like the one here:
http://www.askmen.com/women/actress_250/277_eva_longoria.html
But with a twist.
1. I'll need it in perl/cgi and not flash
2. There's a basic rating system already implemented in pseek for the links in a
sub-directory, but I need the rating system for the sub-directory and not the
links.
3. The ability to generate a top10 or top whatever which I would then use as a
"template include" (http://www.focalmedia.net/pseekmanual/pseek5.html#5_8)
4. Make sure the user isn't able to rate the same directory twice. Unless he
erases his cookie.
5. After x amount of years, the graph under the rating system would show the
averages per year and not per month.
6. I don't want it looking like the one on askmen, the colors and graphs need to
be changed. What I really want is the ability to change the "ratings system"
layout myself, colors and text.
7. The ability to generate an html code for the ratings system of the
sub-directory in question (which can be modified by the admin). A webmaster
would click on a link, the link would give him an html code that he would add to
his site (with a link back to my sub-directory). Without the bottom monthly
average graph.
8. Ability for the admin to modify the ratings of a sub-directory.
9. A ranking system, a variable, which when added to the template, would be
replaced with: "#1 sub-directory of 300" or "#231 of 300" and so on for every
sub-directory in the database.
10. When I create a new sub-directory I want the ability to choose a category
(i.e. Model, Actress, Singer) for that sub-directory. Which will expand the
top10 fuction to be split in top 10 singers, top 10 models, top 10 actresses and
so forth. This can be done with pseek by splitting the sub-directories in a
bunch of directories, but I don't want that (the sub directories are already
split in alphabetical order i.e. p/Pamela_Anderson). I don't want
p/Actress/Pamela_Anderson. I want it to be hidded from everybody, unless I want
it to show in a template. A variable would do the trick.
This is part 1 of the whole project. I'll need more mods done to the script in
the near future.
