News Module -------------------------------------------------------------- Based in the postnuke core module, would be programmed in pnRender and wiht new functionalities. * New functionalities of the news module: The main idea is that other users can send images or url's of other websites with interesting content. - Election between image uploading or sending external url's · Upload one or multiple images (a directory with the notice id must be created automatically to contain them) and its/their visualization in the notice must be automatic. · Send one or more external url's - Similar author scoring or punctuation system to the same you will be able to find at taringa.com.ar (to test it you can use user: Garurumon and password: garurumon) (users have 10 points that can be distributed voting one or several news, so that after voting, they don't recover the points till [X] days later. The users that have received the points accumulate them during [X] days after which the scores get reseted to begin again). This votating system would be located just under the title of the notice (when visualizating the complete notice) and the scores would go from 1 to 10. - System to restrict topics similar to the one at www.wtfpeople.com where it says "I'm a crybaby, so please exclude violent and bizarre links!". The topics to exclude would be easily editables througth the administration panel and they would be restricted taking into account a new age field that would be established in the nuke_users table and that would be filled during registration process (NewUser). The restriction age would also be editable from the module's administration. - Notice recommendation system similar to the Postnuke original one but in a pop-up. - Print view: the same as the original Postnuke one. - Implementation in the design would be done as it's done in the current postnuke module and on Xanthia themes througth the News-index.htm and News-article.htm templates. - Images would be added automatically in the "extended text" just below the notice description and the external url's would be displayed as images that I will design with the text "view link 1", "View link 2", etc. and when clicking on a link it would be shown on a frame like at www.waisen.com (to test it you can use user: Dompi and password: dompi). Images should contain a watermark with www.waisen.com - The hooks' support would be used in the complete notice view to implement the EZComments, pn_bbclick, pn_bbcode... modules - Blocks: top scored/valued, top scored/valued in the last month, top users and top month users (based on the scores received by the users on their sent notices). - News pagination similar to the one at www.wtfpeople.com (the number of news to be shown would be editable from the administration panel). *** Additional notes *** - Note 1: News don't have to be composed by url's or images, because using EZComments they could add directly images or external url's from the "submit News" page. - Note 2: The fields title, description and topic must be compulsory. - Note 3: An importer from the previous nuke_stories table is needed. The url's are saved currently at nuke_stories and the field is called pn_url (only one url per notice is contained), everything else would be mantained as the original module. ALL THE REST, LIKE THE POSTNUKE NEWS MODULE. Advanced user profile module ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Users are divided in men and women (according to the new field in the nuke_users table that should be created for the registration process). General examples are: http://newfaces.com/yvette or http://www.genteirc.com/genteirc.php?tipo=busquedas&p=fotos The module would have a search box similar to the one at http://www.genteirc.com/ to find the profiles according to those fields. Therefore new fields should be created in the nuke_users table: country, sex and city. The photos of their photo gallery and a rating system would be shown in their profile (directory for each user with the uid as directory name). 3 blocks must be created: search box (seeker), top men and top women. This module would also support all kind of hooks to information from pnForum, etc. to the user profile and to support the EZComments module in each user's profile. In total the new fields that should be created specifically for this module are: country, sex, city, birth date (taken from the age field that I commented in the News module), horoscope, your nick's story, other nicks, hobbies and "something more/else abour yourself". In the profile there would be a link to send a private message (using Postnuke's module). In general, the module should be like the system used at http://www.genteirc.com/genteirc.php?tipo=busquedas&p=fotos Additional Info (Added 9/22/2005 at 20:48 EST)...
