I have been trying to complete a new shipping class for osCommerce for 2 or 3
months now. Keep running into difficulty with one part. The new class will
enable the user to configure all products shipping methods through a
"Vendor" system that allows one to create profiles for which shipper
will be used and all shipper's options. I have already written the protion that
handles the Vendors and adds each to each product. The problem I have been
having is calling proper loops to get a ship quote for each Vendor's product in
the cart. The product is tied to a specific Vendor, that Vendor has specific
shipping parameters selected for them(shipper, handling charges, overnight or
not, free shipping after "this much", specific table or zones rates,
etc....). This will need to be expandable as it will become part of a larder
Vender Mangement system I am writing. If you are interested in working on this
let me know with an estimate on your fees and your ref.s for CUSTOM osc work.
This has been worked on by several different people over the years, but noone
has finished it yet, for whatever reason. More details are available.
