The aim is to create online university that is very interactive and student friendly..offering them chat, forum, communities & club as well as all the course related functions such as lecture download(video,etc), Forums, Journals, Quizzes, Resources, Choices, Surveys, Assignments. Students of each college will log in via a common homepage which opens their personal homepage. From there they will have the option of viewing their specific university courses (to which only students of the university will have access to) and their content, clubs and societies(official ones by uni and hence only uni administrators can develop one ), people,etc OR they can view and interact with the general home page which will have all universities, students, clubs & communities created and managed by students(like in orkut), etc. I wish to commence this for medical schools first and then make it available for all other departments. I will give each uni a specific subdomain...ie...harvard.virtualuniversity.com, imperial.virtualuniversity.com, etc..Each univesity will have the power to add courses/departments and upload lectures in specific subject categories, assignments for each course (program will have option for multiple administrators..for each subject/course to put up assignments, grades,etc). Each course administrator will have access to groups of students in each class(eg. class of 2005,2006,etc) The links to each topic in a course will be linked to word, pdf, video imaging, web pages (if a uni has already created a webpage for a certain topic they can easily just hyperlink to it..eg..I created www.virtualwards.com for my medical school...you can contact me via info at virtualwards.com). A Wireless PDA version will be available for students in lectures to read the lecture as they are delivered and complete any post lecture quizes,etc....no need for the other features here for the PDA version I would like a medium sized company with ample experience in developing course and community managment systems to become a partner with me in this new adventure. I am sure I can market this to medical schools in UK as to start off with .as i have experience in online medical teaching programs, and research on online medical softwares,etc.and then if successful we can take it further. I also am sure to start off with the Royal College of Surgeons Medical School (very famous UK & Ire Medical College and Post Grad Surgical College) will use this (as I am a graduate of this place and a lecturer - i want to use this as the pilot school) Hopefully both will profit as time goes by. The above is just a rough guideline..and we can work to create the appropriate structure which i believe is not too difficult as all the scripts are available..phpbb, moodle, etc..and all this requires is combining a few of them in expert hands. Hence, I am looking for a company that is interested in developing a name in interactive educational management systems. Please remember that at this point in time I am paying for this from my pocket as an experiment and hence am not willing to spend too much to start off with...however, as I mentioned above if successful we both will profit in the future.
