Description:	Combining Membership Management with Online Bookmarks Description: Combine aMember with online-bookmarks. Online-bookmarks is a great, but lacks a membership management feature. So, the idea here is to combine aMember with Online-bookmarks. ---------------------- Required: - to be installed an tested on your server - very simple install directions required - so we can install easily (we have both working separately on our server now) - ensure there are no security wholes anywhere, and modification will not slow down server - the simpler the better - keep things simple. - users will sign up for a free service in aMember, then they will be able to login to online-bookmarks using there username and password. - don't worry about formating and css - we can do that ourselves to make the two look the same. It is NOT the intendtion to clone either of these scripts. Use them as they are, but modify where necessary so they can work togehter, Hope that clarifies what is required. Clarification/Update: Note [ and ] are meant to be less than and greater than and colon replaces semi colon If bidders haven't researched this, I spent a few hours trying this out, and it is looking easier to integrate the two systems Here is what I have found out. From aMember: http://www.cgi-central.net/scripts/amember/docs/html/ 2. Adding Member Information to PHP Pages If you are using PHP pages on your site, you can also add member information to additional pages. In this case you are using session information to add the data, it will only appear when a member is logged in. To add a welcome message use the following code: [? session_start(): print "Welcome, " . $_SESSION['_amember_user']['name_f'] . " " . $_SESSION['_amember_user']['name_l']: ?] From online-bookmarks http://www.frech.ch/online-bookmarks/installation.php?style=shock Authentication: There are two possibilities how to authenticate with online-bookmarks. The default way that comes with it, is Apache's basic authentication which is described below. If you cannot implement basic authentication for some reason, try using the small patch to authenticate against a MySQL Database. You can get it from here.
