Netfirms Web Hosting for Small Business

We require a developer/team for the creation of a collaboration-enabling
website. The concept for the website is similar to intranets.com where
companies can subscribe to and be provided with a secure private space in which
to deploy collaborative tools for their employees.
The desire is to engage a developer/team that not only provides the capability
of delivering the application (as demonstrated through past references and
work), but can also act as a consultant that can provide recommendations for the
selection of the most suitable platform/tools for the development. The
developer(s) should also have the ability to implement additional features to
the application (through separate projects) as necessary.
The website will be hosted internally on Windows 2003 server using IIS and
MS-SQL. The public home site will be similar in functionality to the
intranets.com website. We will have this website developed eventually but at
current require the mechanism for the users to be able to subscribe to the
service and create their private space for collaboration.
The private home site will provide the following capabilities:
1. Announcements
2. Messaging
3. Calendar
4. Administration
5. Database creation/maintenance/use
6. Document Management
Document management is a core requirement and needs to provide capability for
checking in, checking out, undoing checkouts, etc. of most document type
including word, rtf, excel, visio, etc. Document access should be restricted by
privilege.
