Description: |
They say the third time is the charm... PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THIS PROJECT IF YOU CAN'T DO IT!! And I mean do it exactly as specified, not "achieve what you think is close enough using some other technology." I apologize for sounding negative, but this project has been canceled twice by programmers unable to meet the specifications or communicate clearly. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: I have tried using websnapr.com for thumbnails, but their service is spotty at best and frequently returns "Forbidden Request" images instead of thumbnails. I would like an application that stores a similar thumbnail locally in a MYSQL DB. This application will grab a screen capture of the home page of a website, resize it and store it as a small thumbnail. I would like this to be a small standalone application built on .php or possibly .cgi. Step-by-step Process: A listing is added to my directory. At the time the listing is APPROVED, the thumbnail is created and stored in the database. Additionally, the site owner can log in and click "Update my thumbnail image" to replace the existing image with an updated one. The listing site ID, URL, filename and database/FTP connection information are passed to the thumbnail application which takes the snapshot, resizes it to 133x100 and uploads the thumbnail to the appropriate folder with the filename assigned. The file name will be the listing ID.gif. This open source thumbnail creator class might do the trick : php.amnuts.com/index.php?do=view&id=9 I will need the proper queries to add to my existing directory script to make it all work correctly. It must be automated and web-based- I am not looking for a desktop application where the data must be manually entered to create the thumbnails. I have ImageMagick on the server already, if needed. Thanks for looking- please PM me to clarify any questions you might have. Related Projects: This project is the proprietary information of .
