This will involve comparing 3745 records (in a .csv file) to the data source (http://www.collegeview.com/collegesearch/collegelistbystate.html). Records are stored .csv file with the following columns: School Name | City | State or Province | Country | url | logo You will need to 1) Go to the web address above and compare the data available online to the information in the .csv file. Extreme attention to detail is mandatory. 2) Browse to each url to weed out dead links. 3) Verify that the logo name correctly matches a file of the same name in the logo folder, and that the image appears legitimate. To verify matching names, copy&paste the name from the .csv into a windows explorer window and see whether the correct file opens. Don't just compare the names by sight. 4) Submit a log of which records contain errors, and submit a corrected record. To ensure quality, I will intentionaly include some errors and will only accept your work if all the intentional errors are found and corrected. It is a straight forward data-entry task. Create a comma-delimited .CSV file, and a MySQL database with the info below: School Name | City | State or Province | Country | url | logo the 'logo' column will be the name of an image file in the same folder. Data will come from 2 websites: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Lists_of_schools_in_the_United_States will list high schools in the united states, by city and state. http://www.collegeview.com/collegesearch/collegelistbystate.html lists all universities in the US and in Canada by state and city. Both websites also have links to the schools' websites, and on the website you can find the logo. You will need to copy the logo and create an image file from it. the Country column will be CAN or USA. It is absolutely critical that the work be error free, so in your bid, include time to proofread for mistakes.
