We are developing a website for a social group that sells ads for its newsletter. The ad data is submitted via a form to a mySQL data base. Two emails need to be generated when payment and form data are successfully received. At least two web pages will be needed to accomplish the data submission and payment. Preference will be given to programmers who have examples of projects involving mySQL. The full workflow is given below. I have tried to indicate where I believe the places where programmer may need to develop code. Where I say "programmer may need to modify" an existing page, I am thinking that detection of successful payment on Paypal is needed. Here is the workflow: 1. User enters the workflow by navigating to a first page on the website that has general information and where a "I accept terms and conditions" box must be checked to proceed. Programmer will not develop this page. 2. Checking the box sends the user to the 2nd page that includes the submission form. The programmer will use an existing web page that includes the form. The form will contain about 16 fields. Six of these fields will be checkboxes. One field will attach a file from the local disk. Clicking Submit sends the user to the Paypal site. Programmer will not develop this page but may need to modify it. 3. The user pays for the ad on Paypal. 4. After Paypal accepts payment and returns the user to the website the programmer will develop the following: a. The form data and attachment are sent to a mySQL data base. b. An email is generated to the website owner with two attachments: - a CSV file with the form data - the file attached by the user with the submission 4. The user is sent to a thank you page on the website. color="DDE1E8">Additional Info (Added 6/22/2008 at 13:30 EST)...This is a major revision of the project requirements. General: We are developing a website for a social group that sells ads for its newsletter. After payment is approved, the ad data is submitted via a form to a mySQL data base. An image file is also saved to the server as part of the submission. Two emails are generated after form data are successfully received. An administrator page allows a standard data base report to be generated for a given month/year. The development project is in two parts: Sales: 1. End user enters the workflow by navigating to a first page on the website that has general information and where an "I accept terms and conditions" box must be checked to proceed. Programmer will not develop this page. 2. Checking the box sends the user to the 2nd page that includes the submission form. The programmer will use an existing web page that includes the form. a. The form will contain data fields such as name, business name, address, email, type of ad, number of months etc. A total of about 26 data items will be on the form. b. In addition the submitters details, the form will allow the user to choose one of 7 different types of ads. Each of these ads will have a drop down selector to choose one of 3 options for the frequency that the ad will appear (one month, six or 12) which will determine the price. c. The user selects an image file from the local disk to accompany the form data. d. Clicking Submit sends the user to Paypal with the correct payment amount. 3. The user pays for the ad on Paypal and is sent to a thank you page on the website. 4. Upon returning to the site: a. The form data and attached image file are saved to mySQL at the web host. b. Two emails are generated at the host server: - a formatted thank you email sent to the submitter - a notification email sent to the site owner with the form data, minus the image file. Report Generation: 1. The site administrator securely logs in for a monthly report. 2. The administrator selects the month/year from a drop down menu and clicks on the Generate Report button 3. The report is generated for all ad data received within the selected month. The browser displays the report as rows of data with column headings (the following are examples of data - final data items will be similar): business name contact name address city state zip phone email website address type of ad number of months 4. The administrator clicks on the Send Report button and the report data is sent to the site administrator as an email with the data attached in a CSV file. 5. The report tool automatically checks the data base for ads that are within two months of expiring and an email to the ad submitter is automatically sent to advertisers whose ads will expire within 2 months.
