During that time, the code has evolved in response to suggestions by viewers and to overcome logistical issues. The site is designed to require minimal bandwidth and it is very compatible with all major browsers. It is designed for heavy traffic and different types of environments in an effort to reduce downtime from heavy traffic.The ServerOn December 1, 2003 we upgraded the server to allow for 40 gigabytes ofbandwidth per month as well as a broader spectrum of content. The operating system supporting the site is FreeBSD, which has proven to be stable under heavy loads. Our focus has been to make ChangingLINKS ready to operate smoothly with thousands of unique viewers visiting each day.ChangebotTo help with our customer service and database maintainence, we have a robot called Changebot. As viewers browse ChangingLINKS, Changebot is activated at random. Once activated, Changebot grabs a link from our database, analyzes it, and then sends an email based on what it finds out about the link. Changebot uses a series of messages that are all contained in one file. These messages have evolved and can be improved to getbetter results. Changebot is extremely effective and seems to contribute about half ofthe traffic flow of ChangingLINKS.LinkerWe also have a program called LINKER. LINKER can browse the search engines using keywords and find potential linking parters. Once LINKERfinishes a job, it automatically uploaded the data into our database. From there, the data is displayed in an interface so that it can be double checked by humans. Once humans have reviewed the data it can be imported into the same database tables that Changebot uses. Changebot graduallyemails the potential linking partners and converts them into members.The StaffBehinds the scenes of ChangingLINKS, there is an interface that makes it really easy to review and administer links. The interface is designed so that it can be used by several people at the same time. Currently, there is only need for one person to use the interface each week, however it is used every day to review links. Coupled with Changebot, links are processed faster than any major search engine. The links are put into a few catagories based on their content: *Low quality includes links, webring, banner, contact pages and most links with a ? in the URL*Normal includes non-commercial or non-profit links*Adult includes any sites with nudity and most offensive material*Com includes any links showing dollar signs or has a purpose of selling*Paid includes all links that were commercial and paid to be upgraded to Normal*Fix includes all links that do not meet our linking criteria*Ban includes links that won't work with ChangebotLink management systemWe have added a completely automated link management and link marketing system. The system enables ChangingLINKS' members to exchange links with each other very easily without writing code or having to manage each linking partnership. We believe that the link management system will enable us to negotiate agreements with popular web sites. Because it is automated, we will be able to offer the service free of charge while winning highly valuable partnerships. The link management system will also offer additional revenue as we will be able to use it to market web sites for clients very easily. The link management system also adds value to ChangingLINKS and helps us provide a"complete marketing package."SEOBesides other marketing efforts, we have paid $1500+ in fees to get search engine friendly html. Those efforts help ChangingLINKS rank highly in the search engines, and this will improve with more membership. We have theability to add thousands pages full of reciprocal links pages if needed, and we have 10 key pages targeting phrases related to ChangingLINKS services. The Google "Florida" update illustrates why it is unnecessary for us to modify our SEO strategy. We plan to leave the front page of ChangingLINKS unchanged.BUSINESS PLANThe Goals:1. Our primary goal is to make sure that ChangingLINKS is fun and easy to use and that our marketing messages are effective.2. Our secondary goal is to increase the LCs.
