enter all information into a Pocket PC using drop down menus. I need a record for each vehicle inspected to retain information such as registration, mileage etc. I wish to enter brake efficiency readings and various calculations to be automatically made. For reporting defects, i wish to have a drop down menu detailing the basic component such as Brakes, Steering, Suspension etc and when I have selected the relavant componant area I wish to refine the components such as Brake Pipe, Brake Disc, Brake Pedal - you get the idea. Once I have chosen the component I need to identify position - Front, Back, Top, Bottom, Letf, Right and so on. I have a very long list of possible vehicle defects which are graded in severity. Once I have selected to component and postion I wish to select the defect from a drop down list which are obviously only liked to that particular item - it is no good having such a thing as Category - "WindscreenWipers" Defect - Flat Tyre. Every thing needs to be linked in order for me to carry out a vehicle inspection as quickly as possible and print the results. I have a ratings system which signifies the severity of the defect thes are A, B, or C for example These severity ratings should be automatically associated to the defect description but should be able to be altered if required. I will provide the paperwork that I am currently using, and the printout MUST be in exactly the same format with regard to information and positioning etc - Please dont ask for this information unless I choose you as a winning bidder as I will not send it untill the project is near completion. I will also need the ability to enter free text if neccessary. After each defect noted, I will need to be able to enter a code to recomend the repair action required for the defect - such as C - Change, R - Repair, A - Adjust etc I can provide the list of possible defects as a 200 page PDF. These are all categorized, but it would probably need a mechanic type of person to be able to fine tune it. For this reason, I need the ability to easilly and more importantly quickly move defects to the correct category and severity setting. The automotive industry in moving almost as quickly as the computing industry. I will need the ability to add and change items without causing any corruption to previous data.
