Netfirms Web Hosting for Small Business

The current task at hand would be developing a module for Magento Commerce (or
comparable opensource product) in which a product with various attributes could
be added. These attributes include;
Size: Width * Length
Color:
Mounting:
Style:
..etc
the product, window blinds, are priced as determined by certain ranges of width
and length. for example, all blinds 36" to 42" wide and 49 to 56" length are
the same price, but blinds with a different width have a different price (10
width ranges) and blinds with a different length have a different price (10
length ranges). Pricing is essential a matrix with 100 different prices per
product based on dimensions. The product has additional attributes that add
additional costs, based on a percentage of the base product or a specific dollar
amount.
The problem is that because of the various sizes, 12 inches - 120 inches for
each the length and the width, there are MANY different variations in product
combinations which could be chosen (120 * 120 * #_of_products - at the MINIMUM).
So adding product via the typical configurable product method, is not feasible.
Further to this issue would be the fact that pricing is based on these various
attributes in a price matrix scheme.
So what would need to be done is the following:
Implement a system in which product can be added/changed/configured via an
administration panel without having to configure 1000's of possible combinations
of product.
Implement a pricing system based on the aforementioned system. Please make sure
you understand what I mean by pricing matrix if you plan on bidding
Magento Commerece is not a set solution, so any other suggestions are open for
discussion.
