NEED AN ACTUAL ONLINE SYSTEM CONFIGURATOR, not just a shopping cart. See dell.com, alienware.com, velocitymicro.com for examples of their configurators. We're also looking for a SIMILAR LOOK AND FEEL as those sites. We don't want to copy them, but they all share the same look/feel that we're after. The configurator will obviously need an 'admin' interface to edit products, prices, etc. Which packages we've seen: * ProductCart from EarlyImpact (ASP) - If you own this software and can do the site with it, from what I can tell this would work. * OSCommerc (PHP) - Seems good for shopping cart sites, but we have not seen a computer company using this to build systems online. If you plan on using this, please provide a link to any company using this that sells build-to-order systems. If you've built a site (.asp or .php) where we can 'test drive' to see what we'd be getting, that would be great. Even better if we can view the admin side. Note: We put MySQL and Linux as I'd assume most people would want to use php. We have no problem with .asp/sql site ,in fact most of the better looking pages (not all) seem to be .asp based. If you bid, please let me know the following: * If you plan on using a php or asp solution. * If you plan on building from scratch or using an existing (free/commercial) script/package. * If building from scratch (or using your own code), We'll need to see examples of similar work done. Extra info: * We're also looking for someone with artistic skills for the general look/feel of the site (see the websites I list above for examples). * We're willing to pay for part of the work up-front after we discuss details. * Please do not send me a canned response.
