Link Master - $200 per month, ongoing - You bid how many hours you can give me for $200/month

Bidding Time:
06/12/2004 06:46 - 10/01/2005 00:00
Budget:
$100-500
Status:
Closed

Job Type:
Link Building
Description:

HostRocket.Com - 1000MB - $4.99

This is an ongoing position. You'll be responsible for maintaining the links
section of my website - www.thepokerproject.com.
I can pay $200 a month. Instead of bidding different amounts, please bid $200
and tell me how many hours per month you can allocate to this assignment for
that amount.
Currently a reciprocal links script is running on my site. I'm getting rid of
that all together, as the pages it produces all have a google pagerank of 0, and
that's unacceptable.
Your first task will be to tidy up the current links section:
You'll need to click on each of the links found in my links directory, and find
the reciprocal link on their site. You'll need to take note of the google
pagerank of the page on their site that links to mine. Click to make sure the
link to my site works. You'll put all that data (their site's home page
address, the page where they link to me, their pagerank, and whether the link
works) into a database or spreadsheet file and send it to me. If you can't find
a reciprocal link, you'll note that in the file.
Then you'll create a series of new static pages that list all the links in an
easy to read manner. There should only be 2 or 3 pages to start with, as
opposed to the 12 that my links directory currently has. You'll leave out any
link partner that had a pagerank of 0 on their reciprocal page.
After you've done this, your job will be to search out and solicit new link
partners. Acceptable link partners will have something to do with either poker
or gambling, and have a google pagerank of at least 2 on the page where they'd
be linking to us.
It doesn't matter how you find the sites, but I'd suggest looking through the
yahoo and dmoz directories first, in all the poker and gambling sections. Then
I'd suggest looking through the link directories of other major poker sites,
such as pokerpages.com, and playwinningpoker.com.
In addition to searching out new link partners, you'll be responsible for
deciding which sites to partner with out of those that solicit us (emails from
them will be automatically forwarded to an email address that I'll provide
you). You'll accept all those that meet the criteria listed above (their site
has something to do with either poker or gambling, and the page from which
they'll link to us has a google pagerank of at least 2). You'll reject the
rest, and send them a form letter explaining why.
When you solicit a new link partner, you'll need to write a personalized email
to the webmaster or website owner. You'll cc a copy of the letter to me. You
should not use a form letter. The response you get from personalized letters is
much higher, and worth the extra effort. You'll start every letter by
introducing yourself and complimenting their site in some way (the more specific
you are, the better). You'll then tell them what information to use when
linking back to us, which I'll provide to you, and what information we'll need
to link to them (site name, url, site description, and which section of our
links section they'd like to be listed in).
You'll take note of every site you email in the original database or spreadsheet
file that listed all our link partners (you can just leave the reciprocal link
column blank until they return your email, or if they never return your email),
which you'll periodically send me updates of. If a site hasn't answered your
request in two weeks time, you'll email them again. After that, if they haven't
answered, oh well.
You'll update the link pages regularly with those sites that have agreed to
exchange links, and send me the updated .html files no less than twice a week.
Again, when bidding, please bid $200, and tell me how many hours you'll be able
to allocate to this assignment each month. Also, tell me how many emails you
think you'll be able to send to potential link partners each month. I realize
you won't send as many the first month, as your first task will be tidying up
the current list of link partners. It's fine if you guess too many or to few.
I just want an approximation to help me in choosing the right person for the
position.

Additional information submitted:

12/06/2004 at 11:42 EST:
I accidentally set the budget to $20-$100 instead of $100-$500. I'm
trying to get getafreelancer.com to change it for me. Till then, just bid $100
and I'll count it as if you bid $500. Thanks.

12/07/2004 at 2:50 EST:
On second thought, the emails you'll send out to potential link
partners will not need to be entirely personalized. I'll write one email, and
you'll only need to alter one sentence each time you send the email out (the
sentence complimenting the website in some manner).

12/07/2004 at 2:51 EST:
Please disregard the additional information submitted on 12/06/2004.
I meant to add that statement to another project I had listed, not this one.
Bid $200, as I'll be paying $200 per month. Thanks, and I appologize for any
confusion.
