Description: |
Our Company: We are a publishing company that is in the middle of a huge expansion. For the last 13 years, we have been in Hawaii with the Maui Golf Review magazine. We are publishing a National Golf Review magazine at the end of the summer. So, we are in need of a website that caters to our consumers (locally and mainland U.S.) and future advertisers (mainland U.S.). Content: Homepage: We would like the home page to have a very simple feel like Conde Nast (http://www.condenast.com/) or Future US (http://futurenetworkusa.com/). Also, we would like similar functionality to both of these sites with either Flash, videos or slideshows. This page will serve mainly as an index page to other pages (6 different publications). Pages: We want the pages look and have features similar to http://www.demo.youjoomla.com/News_Line_1.0/. Some of the applications we would like to include are the following (but if you know of better ones to use – that’s great): -Joomla-core
 -Flippingbook
-IJoomla - Magazine
-IJoomla Digistore
-Sobi2
-RWCards Ecards extension
 -Artbanner Plus
-XE-Media Mambot Goals: The site must also help us to promote a new magazine we are launching at the end of this summer. We would like to have a database that we can somehow link to our existing database in Microsoft Access. This is the most important part of our site: new project promotion. We are
planning to mail postcards to golf courses (over 1,000) with course info on the postcard
that we want the golf course to approve on this new site. The courses will need to be able to set up a username and password and register. Then see the copy that is in our database, and be
able to edit it. We want to offer them options to upgrade their listing in our new golf
guide while they are doing this verification, so we need to have buttons or banners that
promote these options, and then link to pages that further describe what the options are,
and enable the customer to buy that option or to get more information. Also, e-commerce capability is needed. We need to sell golf rounds (certificates) that we receive in trade
from our existing customers through banner ads we need help creating. We also want to
have slide shows for all 20 golf courses in our guide, a video viewing system for each
golf course, a news outlet for each golf course, and a postcard feature that visitors can
use to build and send a digital postcard from our photo library to anyone by e-mail.
Lastly, we want to also sell hi-res photo file downloads on the site, as well as have pages
for media kit information that display our ad rates, reader demographics, company
background, offices, printing facilities, photo studio, equipment, staff, circulation, and
more. This is an important project for us and we need a hands on type of person who can
tell us what they think is best and then implement it. You can see a digital version of our
golf guide at www.hidili.com/mgr to get an idea of what the content for the magazine is
like. We will need ongoing support for this site, as well as some training to enable us to
post news items. A banner ad management system would also be nice, as well as some
flash to pepper up the pages. We like visual skins that are newsy looking like Yahoo or
CNN. Thanks for your help. Related Projects: This project is the proprietary information of .
