Description: |
Project Background Radio station have an existing website that will be revamped using Joomla CMS, PHP, Mysql and will be hosted on a linux server running Debian GNU/Linux. Hosted with www.netselidahosting.com There will be a listen live feature on the new site that will run an existing audio stream from their existing streaming partner to the radio stations listeners. The existing streaming partner does not use Shoutbox, instead, they use windows media server and as such cannot stream the current playing tune along with the stream. Script Objectives. Check a .txt file on the remote server and if full pull the contents (Song Title & Artist) back to the web server and publish it to a location on the website. If it checks the file and the file is empty then the script should display the name of the radio station and the internet address. The script needs to check every 2 mins or so and refresh the website contents. Radio Stations Platform The Radio Stations platform was a custom software project created using Microsoft Access. When the .exe is run it creates a .txt file in a tmp dir on the in-house server that contains the currently playing tune information. This file refreshes each and everytime the tune changes. It works flawlessly. The in-house server is a windows server. Complete specification available upon request. I need the script to be well documented. I look forward to your feedback and offers.
