I got and the bids given, I decided to update the information and reformulate what is needed. What the programmer will be working on: 1) GUI for clients and staff to access information stored in the database. - Clients will need to view their profile information, update information if needed and run only certain queries. - They will also need to be able to see a list of products that we can deliver to their site and be able to request those items and have them placed into a que. (would like this to happen per line, so the page does not have to keep reloading.) - They should be able to access the que, see when those items will be delivered, delete them if they changed their mind and change the order in which they wish to have them delivered. - Reports will also need to be provided accessing information from the database. - Staff will need to be able to access information on items that have been delivered but need to be verified as delivered and activated remotely, and they will need to be able to add new items to the database including the files that belong to those specific items. 2) Automatic or backend Chrono jobs. - Update the database with information from another database hosted on another server (connection information to be provided by the client). If new information is found automatically collect the new information and download files off that remote server via FTP to our server. - Simple script to sort through our database and find either a requested item to be delivered (from their que) or a random item to be picked that fit the criteria set by the client. - FTP Upload - To automatically upload item specific documents and/or files from our server to another server whose connection information will be provided by the client. - Update a MySql database found on another server with information found within our database. - Integration with PayPal to charge the client's PayPal account at the end of the month for services provided and items delivered. And then deliver the charge to our PayPal account. I have looked at Content Manager Open Source software like Joomla 1.5 and XOOPS to do some of these tasks, but many of the modules do not seem to fit the exact specifications. If you have knowledge of either of these programs, preferably Joomla 1.5, and can make modules that would perform the tasks that I have set forth. That would be wonderful!!! and a major Plus! And should also drastically reduce the amount of work you should have to do. This is just the first step that we have for the site, and it needs to be up quickly. If the programmer is able to provide this in a fast, efficient and cost effective manner, then there will be more functionality to be added to this site in the very near future, as in right when this project is completed and tested on our end. I have included a PowerPoint slide to show the general layout of how the site should flow after this beta release. One more thing, this will need to be a secure site. I know that there are many people out there that try to hack databases to get the information that they contain. The programmer will need to have the ability to design the site, so that all the information found within, including the connection information to our client's MySQL databases and servers is kept completely secure.
