OVERVIEW: Complete overhaul of web application based upon PHP/MySQL for creative educational program. The current web application allows teams of students to perform and submit written work online via a six-step process for subsequent feedback and evaluation, a process previously undertaken via paper booklets and traditional mail. Current code involves extensive use of original PHP classes, OOP, and MySQL interaction. We would like to modify this application in two ways in creating a better NEW application: (1) look and feel, incorporating the latest graphical elements and styles WHILE taking speed of site into consideration (2) Code and programming, incorporating the latest advances in PHP5 and OOP. Our broad goal is a modular system in the mold of EdgePanel, http://www.renaxsolutions.com/html/edgepanel.php, though of course tailored to our unique application. New programming MUST make use of original OOP structure and protocols, that is, original code, in creating the underlying structure of the system. How this is done is completely up to you, as long as the code is original. WE CAN SEPARATE THE GRAPHICS UPDATE AND CODE UPDATE IF NEEDED. In both cases, creativity is a must! A general overview of our existing web application: (1) A Team module: a site for individual teams composed of students to create and submit work on different topics assigned by the program administrator during the academic year. (2) A Teacher Module: a site where teachers may logon to view and interact with the work of their teams. (3) An Evaluator module: a site where evaluators logon to score and rank submitted work. All scoring information is then itself saved to the program database for subsequent viewing by teams. (4) An Admin module: a site for administrative control, including the creation of teams, assignment of topics, management of evaluators, coaches, and so on. Note: Admin in the new application should also allow for creation and easy update of new pages, and so on. *I will send logon information to prospective coders so that they may see the current application and its operation.* We can work in stages of completion if this suits the programmer (team module as first stage, teacher module as second stage, and so on). We can also separate the graphical update from the code update entirely, or treat them as stages as well, if desired. Other deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc., unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
