a programmer who works for my son but now I can't keep asking him to give up his time for my little changes and bug fixes. I know enough of PHP myself to work on some of the additional pages needed for the site, but need someone with a strong knowledge and good experience to catch small bugs, hook up some new pages to the DB, add a new field in the DB and help me when needed to add or change some functionality. 99% of these fixes will take under 15 minutes as I have fixed many myself and I am not a programmer. I would like to either work on a monthy fee since I will only need a few hours each month, maybe a bit more in the beginning. So you if you really know your stuff, figure I need 8 real hours of your time each month. You will be bidding on an 8 hour job for now and when I can see how you work and how fast you can do these small tasks we can adjust. I have my current programmer to help you understand anything I can't explain to you to get you going. We also know when a fix takes 5 minutes or 30 minutes so we will judge your talent and integrity before making this a permenant situation. I know there are many talented people in India, Pakistan, Lithuania, Russia and of course the US, but we are located in New Jersey in the USA and I no longer want to stay up until 4 AM EST to deal with a programmer in India who doesn't speak or understand English too well. It has become a waste of my time doing this. Hopefully you will be in the USA or Europe where the time zone is not too bad (6 hours later then mine would still be OK) and able to work on these small things quickly so I can move forward on my tasks. Our budget is not a big one, so if you want to bill at $40 per hour or more, don't even bother. Show me what you can do and I will be fair. Additional Info (Added 7/31/2005 at 1:55 EST)... Listen guys...I love my Indian Designer who has worked with me for a year now and lives in New York (came here 6 months ago). I have nothing against Indian programmers so please don't think I do. I have worked for two years now as I said with programmers all over the world. I am just tired or working until 4 AM and getting 5 hours sleep each day and have done it as I said for 2 years now. Language problems and communication is an issue and I prefer to talk to my programmers using skype when possible. I currently will be use skype to work with my programmer in Germany so we can both talk to each other as we are working on the fix of a problem or issue. So communications on my time zone is important to me. Since this is not for a one time project, I need to know that the person selected will be available, can talk to me real time if necessary and has a great deal of integrity and a good sense of humor. So you can be Indian or a guy from Brooklyn, New York....but I have been down the road over the past two years and worked with many that just don't deliver what they promise (and they all do promise to do it correctly) and I don't want to work in the middle of the night with anyone anymore.
