However we would like to use this open source mapping http://www.mojavelinux.com/projects/gsiv/ The above open source map already has zooming built in. The Coder does not need to rewrite this, only to extend the script so that Landmark Markers can be added to it. This script needs to be extended to support markers. **** Exact visual mockups of extensions of functionality will be available to coder. Coder required to sign NDA beyond this description. ----------------------------------------- Scope: ----------------------------------------- Display markers on the GSIV map, which display a small popup div containing a bit more information about the marker and an optional photo. This div should be formattable and pulled by an ajax query to our server (we use XAJAX). Marker properties: - belong to different categories - Have a generic marker graphic based on their category at Zoom levels 4-8 (not 100% sure how many zoom levels are appropriate.) - Have a unique marker graphic from Zoom levels 1-3 (Closest zoom) - Marker categories can be turned off or on via a javascript checkbox/drop down see: http://inexorabletash.members.winisp.net/maps/map.htm - Administrator should be able to click on map and pop up div will ask for file upload, name, description category. - A how-to of getting coordinates for the GSIV for easy import of a large dataset of markers.
