Description: |
Database. The system requires three types of user: customer, worker, and administrator. On the first screen, the user can select their city from a list, if the city is not available, the customer cannot order. If the user is a return customer, worker or administrator, they can select the “I already have an account” option and log in. When a customer orders for the first time, they are required to select a password, customer can then log in on subsequent visits using their phone#(as username) and password. Required customer fields are: name, street address, city (the default city is the city customer selected upon first using the system), phone#, password. A worker only has permission to view a customer's order, and can mark the order as processed or canceled. A worker account can only be created by an administrator, and required fields for worker are: name, worker id (as username), password. An administrator can add/delete/edit/view worker accounts, customer accounts, customer orders, menu items, picture for menu items(88x70 pixels, jpg or gif), menu items details, menu categories, city list. Required administrator fields are: administrator id(as username) and password. An administrator can only change his password in the java gui interface, adding additional administrator accounts can only be done directly in the access database. The menu design is up to you, but I prefer a tabular view for each category to make it look clean. Ie: one tab for entrée, one tab for desserts, etc. An item on the menu includes the item name, item description, unit price, and item picture if available. For test data, you can use the dinner menu from http://www.olivegarden.com/ourmenus/dinnermenu.asp . Additional Info (Added 12/3/2005 at 0:11 EST)... Ok, there seems to be a lot of confusion regarding this project. Let me clarify. This is just a regular Java gui program using jdbcodbcdriver to connect to the mdb file. It doesn’t not need to be online/web based. No applet, no servlet, no jsp. This is for a school project and not an actual restaurant ordering system. If you bid, you must be able to complete it within 3 days. Additional Info (Added 12/3/2005 at 5:45 EST)... Another update due to message board questions: this program can be written/compiled with either java 1.5.0 or java 1.4.2, I have no preferences. STOPzilla! Anti-Spyware Software
