I only need the pictures to be about 40kb for what I am doing, so I want to save bandwidth by creating a program that resizes the pictures on the customers computer before they are uploaded to the server. This means that I need to either have an Activex/Java applet running within the browser, which I would prefer, or have a separate program all together that somehow uploads to my server. The program has to be self opening, self installing, and then self deleting after the program has completed its task. The program should have drag and drop capabilities preferably, although I don't know how much money this will add. The program should also preferably put the files into a zip file before upload. I am thinking that the program needs to be coded in java or c++, but if someone has an alternative, let me know. I need some feedback on this project about how hard it will be to do, and how long it will take, before I accept a bid. An example of this type of application is on the photo website www.ophoto.com. You have to go to the upload photo's page on Ophoto. I want something pretty much exactly like this that runs in the website window. Is it possible to have something running in the website window with a PHP website? All I need for this project is the creation of the c++ or Java program. I will do all of the web development coding in PHP. I need a programmer who is easy to communicate with over an instant messaging program, and who is open to changes on the fly.
