Description: |
Based on industry standards, software should be installed easily and set up to a new or existing web site in a seamless fashion. Software should be a fully web-centric solution, including administration. Software should include all the components necessary to broadcast live streaming shows. Via a program, downloaded from the web and run by each performer, a performer is able to start a show, capture his or her video and audio, and stream them. Software server component is responsible for receiving the video and audio streams and forwarding them to all clients that have joined the show. In addition, multi-way text chat is supported with messages being displayed for the performer and on each show participant's screen. Those who have joined the show participate by way of java applets that provide the video display, chat capability and audio playback. Software should optimizes the video quality according to the bandwidth available for each user, achieving 180 or more frames/minute (without the Streaming option). Web pages in which software is surfaced, are fully customizable for an identical look-and-feel to the site itself. Software should contain web-based administration screens, and generates thorough log files for operations support. Software is deployable on Red Hat Linux systems supporting Java 1.4. There are five optional components that should provide additional functionality: * Pay per view option: allows Sidekick to manage the time that clients are in private sessions. * Metering option: allows Sidekick to track the bandwidth used by each referring web site. * Multiple language option: allows performers to engage with clients in two languages with full separation, including different chat areas. * Dialer option: support dialer system for billing. * Streaming option: provides smoother video at up to 24 frames per second.
