Over the weekend we would like to buy a search engine crawler. We dont want bids that say we can build it etc, We want to purchase one that is already finished. These can include search engine crawlers that have been based on opensource work and you modified them to make them better etc, The engine should include alot of the basic functions of a distributed search engine crawler, First and formost is a adminastration panel, if yours doesnt have this Im not intrested. While I dont mind having to do some of the controlling by ssh, i would prefere to not have to. Other features should include be able to see the crawler with a list of starting URLS, prefarble by using the dmoz.org database for starters and parsing the .rdf database and injecting them to a temp database. Ability to set the limits of the crawl, the ability to parse as many file types as possible, including mp2,doc,pdf,html,php,asp, etc etc, Dont worry if yours cannot do this it doesnt mean that were not going to be intrested in your product. Another main concern is load on the servers, if yours is a resource hog, I probably will not be intrested. Along with this it should have the ability for us to set the ranking formula, example: base a page higher in rankings on keywords, or rank a page higher because of the incoming links, For right now Im not going to go on and on with this just show us examples, of what you have to offer. While I like php, Im not sure that we would really be intrested in anything done in it for this project. You would have to really show us that your product built in php could perform.
