The purpose of the project is to develop a website for Hotel Room booking engine in line to the functionalities from http://www.londonnights.com. FEATURES (Proposed) Front End 1. Dynamic Animated Introduction There will be an animated introduction on the home. 2. A new eye-catching logo will be created in line to the color and theme of the site. 3. Flash page There will be a flash showing order process, users can click on the logo of certain steps and more information will be shown. 4. Dynamic Pages *Hotel Deals *Search Hotels *Find a Hotel (With dynamic Reservation system) *Hotel of the Month *Latest Hotel Deals *Contact Us *Help *Hot/ Featured Offers *Subscribe to Newsletter *Log in and Log out option ETC. 5. Admin section will contain the following features: - Extensive usage stats (For members, hotel owners, users) * Recent stats for rooms posted today, yesterday and in last 7 days * Similar stats are available for hotel sign ups, rooms booked for the day/month/week * Add / edit / remove categories/rooms. * Implement rating systems for rooms/hotels that is defined. * Switch ON-OFF email verification process * Configure all outgoing emails * Cleanup routines * Configure fees/rates from hotels - percentage figure to calculation * View all billing transactions (commissions and booking fees) * Add/edit/remove transactions * Location management console to add/edit/remove locations for which hotels can be posted * Manage premium hotels * Approve logos for premium employers * View/Edit/Delete Hotel Members * Search members * Search/edit/delete/approve hotels/offers * Email Subscribers individually or collectively * Search subscribers * Visitor feedback section * Sponsored ad management * Support for banner ads, text ads and affiliate ads * Admin can Add/Edit/Delete/Approve/Disapprove any ad * Support for running Google à words * Management of promotional discount codes/coupons * Show IP addresses for every payment made 6. Checkout system *Upon checkout, the system will confirm with the user the delivery address, user is able to edit it *Upon checkout, user is able to select delivery method and the system will add in the delivery cost respectively *User is able to select payment method, by internet banking (3 days), ATM transfer (3 days) or by Paypal (immediately). *After the order is submitted, an order email which includes the detail invoice would be sent to admin 7. Backend *After registration, user is able to login and place orders *User is able to update their personal info *User is able to change password *There will be a forgot password link for user *There will be an order status section *User is able to see the status (pending/confirmed/cancelled) *User is able to submit “Payment made notification” by filling up a form *User signup details *Date sign up *Username *Name *Date of Birth *Email Address *Address *Country *Mailing Address *Postal Code *Hp no. /contact no. 8. Ordering System *Users have the option to pay by internet banking or credit cards or by Paypal (immediately). *After an order is made, a notification email would be sent to admin, including payment status (paid or pending) *Admin would receive a “Payment made notification” by Email and approve the order in the ordering system. A confirmation email would be sent to the user after approval. *If no approval is done by the admin within 3 days, the system will cancel the reservation and return the quantity to the stock record. A notification email would be sent to both admin and the user. *Admin is able to cancel order anytime. After cancellation, the system will auto sends a notification email to the customer. *Admin will also be able to change order status to “delivered” *Upon submit “delivered” status, admin would be asked to fill up some info before the notification email is sent to the customer *Admin will be able to manage several orders at one go, except “delivered” status. e.g. select a few orders and approve at one go WEBSITE DESIGN___________________________ - Conceptualized look and feel - Clean and woody outlay - The front page will be well designed, clean, intuitive, easy to use and have an appropriate look and feel - Promotions Page - Financing Page - Directions - Room Planner (Provided by client) - About us - Selections - Contact Us - Store Locations - Bridal Registry - Up to 10 static information pages (About us | our team | our contact information | etc.) - Customization of the style with custom site theme image and logo - Mailing scripts will be installed on all online forms (Contact, Employment, etc. - WYSIWYG Editor for unlimited changes to all the information on the site - eCommerce and Payment Integration CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM____________ A customized CMS system will be provided where you can manage the entire website’s content such as text, pictures and other information on the site. Once this is in place you will not require to go back to any web designer or developer to add content pages to your site. This CMS will be simple and user friendly and even someone with minimal computer skills we be able to user it. The Content Management System will have the following features: - The advanced CMS is empowered to add custom pages with text and images. - News, Offers, Packages and Deals can be posted to any page using this CMS - No programming, HTML or web design skills are required to add new content to your web site thereby enabling to keep the content fresh for search engines - Reducing the maintenance cost to nearly nil. TECHNICAL ANALYSIS_______________________ - A detailed functional document will be prepared. - Technical design document including database design will be prepared. - The database shall be a relational one where normalization shall be stressed. - Robustness of the database and fast querying is of prime importance during the design of the database. - We shall also ensure that the technical design is scalable to easily add more modules in the site at a later date. AUTO RESPONDERS________________________ - The entire site shall have various action points that will warrant auto responders via email. - This is for standard triggers like the registration or when details are sent to the administrator. - This module does not include any email marketing campaign carried out by the admin. MARKETING________________________________ - Submission to search engines / directories - Search engine friendly URLs - Website statistics BROWSER COMPATIBILITY __________________ The website would be tested for compatibility with the following web browsers: - Netscape 6.0 and above (Windows) - Internet Explorer 5.0 above (Windows) - Mozilla Firefox 0.9.2 (Windows) SYSTEM SECURITY__________________________ We understand that security is of utmost importance in any web-based application. Therefore, we make serious efforts to ensure that the application we develop is secure and cheat proof.
