Description: |
Right now we are using .net on a windows platform but we are open to php and linux. We are looking for an ongoing relationship because this type of work will allways need updating so we are looking at hourly rates. We are needing database work that includes a log parser and the ability to work with log files similar in nature to webtrends. We are developing a graphic front end and need your programming to work with it. Specs are as follows. Job specs: 1. We need a series of asp, php, or jsp scripts that take information to and deliver information from our own front end interface (users need to log in to this system, so sessions will need to be created on the server, etc.) 2. These scripts will send information to and retrieve information from multiple databases (some of which already exist, others we will need created). 3. We need a user management system built (a user database) with scripts that allow us to add/edit and delete users. 4. We need a project management system built (a project database) with scripts that allow users to add/edit/delete their own projects. 5. We need a server-side application that will connect to other webservers (presumably via ftp) and download user-specified log files with their supplied account info on an ongoing basis once they enter the information into the system. 6. We need a log parser that will parse these web server log files, extracting IP addresses, date/times, and filenames (robust parser, able to handle any number of log file formats). 7. The results of the parsing need to be filtered into that user's project database. 8. We need scripts that alert the user to filenames in the log files that have not been seen before. 9. We need scripts that allow the user to specify whether or not that filename should be tracked now and in the future. 10. We need scripts that will query the project database based on user supplied date ranges in multiple ways (to be discussed). 11. We have a large IP range database that we will compare the extracted log file IP addresses against to try and determine where people are located. 12. All of the above information relates to web server log input. We also have existing .asp formatted scripts for recording sessions within our own multimedia presentations, we will need those scripts re-written to work on whatever platform you choose to write the rest of this in as well, so that our existing material is not lost, and still works within this expanded framework (we basically want our tool to work with websites as well as our own multimedia presentations now). 13. There will also be advertising campaign entries associated with a user's project files that they will need to be able to add/edit/delete. This is basically a record of how much money they are spending on which ad campaigns (and how long those campaigns are running). As of right now this is all entered manually by the user, but in the future we will likely want some method of importing this data from an excel file or another tool that marketing type people use for keeping track of their ad dollars. When we know more about what our customers want regarding this, you will know more. 13. We expect the finished product to be a working system that can handle many customers at any given time, not a prototype, or a functioning demo. 14. We also expect that this product will need revising and expanding many times in the future, so we are looking for a long-term relationship rather than a one-time deal.
