Here are the details:] This job is for a young female entrepreneur based in Vienna, who has her own small translation services business, but does not have a great deal of money, so pricing is a central consideration: Translation services job (Vienna, Austria) Here's an exchange I had with the client: Original client email: Sorry I havent gotten back to you about this any sooner... I have something ... in mind like ... a title page, and introduction of services and brief bio and maybe a list of clients and projects Also I would like to have the site in three languages... [German, Hungarian, English, I believe] Now, what would you charge for a complete package like this? I am not sure how soon I will be able to go through with this, but I would like to have a rough idea of costs involved. Thanks again! -- [response mailed to client] (revised from original) Here's what I have in mind: An index (main) page that will come up when people type in your domain name... This will contain your logo [note to designers: I already may have something in this regard, but indicate what your own logo pricing might be] – which I would suggest (unlike the one you've seen) contain only your name and accompanying images (no translation issues!). There will also be three links (see attachment, for an example), each displaying the name of one of your chosen languages (am I right that these are English, German and Hungarian?) and each typed in that language's own alphabet [perhaps also a simple "Contact" link, also in three languages, at the bottom of the page]. When any of the language-specific site-entry links is clicked, the visitor will be brought to the relevant language-specific "subsite", containing further information on you and your services. Some possibilities for this "subsite" are: - General pricing information for your services for various job types/sizes - A link to a quote request form, on which the client can submit information relating to specifically what he requires. I'll need you to inform me of the relevant details necessary to establish pricing on a job. Perhaps even some kind of secure upload capability, allowing submission of actual client documents for your review and allowing you to provide the client with more customized pricing. - A review page, as you suggested, of clients and projects, and even testimonials from satisfied clients, should you have them or be able to obtain them. - An "About" page, with a photo of yourself (if you wish) and a brief bio reviewing your background, education and skills. - A "Contact Page", with phone, email address, mailing address and even, should you desire it, the ability of customers (existing and potential) to chat with you live online whenever they wish, should you be available [note to designers: there's a free live chat client at http://www.boldchatplus.com/ -- feel free to suggest others]. ... From you I'll need info including: - Your bio and other information regarding your services (once the English version is completed, I imagine the rest will be easy). Of course you'll need to translate this text into the other two languages. Should you be interested, we can begin some of the background work in the coming week.
