Description: |
which will be published in PDF format. You may create it using any page-layout software you wish, but we would prefer someone who uses QuarkExpress for the PC. We publish another weekly in the same format and you can find the archives of that magazine at www.spweekly.com/artengine/publish.php and you will need to click on the “login” link on the right and enter guest and test for the user/password, and after you login you will see a link to the archives in the right column, below a small magazine cover image. Each week the editor will supply you with text files and you will need to create a publication with the files sent. The editor will tell you how many pages the magazine must be when he sends the files, and you must create an issue with that number of pages. It's obviously quite easy to stretch it if need be, but you will likely have more material than needed for the amount of pages required. We do not supply graphics, and it will be up to you to get them, but more often than not a graphic is available at a company's web site, either their logo, an image of the person the article is about, a product shot etc. Sometimes the editor will suggest something for the cover, other times it will be entirely up to you. This is not a difficult job for a good designer, and while we don't require award winning layouts and graphics every week, we do want it to have a professional look and feel, with a great sense of style to it. The great part of this project is that you have a great deal of creative freedom, within certain limits. The project requires that you are able to create the publication in 48 hours of receipt of the text, which will be available no later than 3:00pm EST (that's GMT –5 hours) on a Friday, and the publication must be ready by 12:00 noon EST on the following Monday. This is the same process our other title follows and the graphic designed doing it has no problems with the time-line, neither should you.. You must have a Broadband Internet connection to bid on this project and we will no consider anyone who does not have this. The first issue will publish at the end of January 2005 and you must also be available to start by January 29th, 2005 and be able to perform the work every week as required. You MUST be able to show us your work, and be willing to create a 32 page sample publication in 48 hours as proof of your ability, so if you do not wish to produce a sample as described, please don't bother to bid. There is no pay for creating the sample since it will be from content from an issue that has already been issued, so there is nothing for us to gain from having you do it, except to be sure you are capable. You can find the text for the sample here: www.spweekly.com/649content.zip You will need to create a cover and layout for the contents page and staff box, as well as 31 pages for the inside, which should have a number of double-spreads. Please note we count double-spreads as single pages, so the total page count although only 32 (plus cover and contents) is actually more, due to the spreads. This will develop to a long-term project for the right person. Please place your bid for producing the publication every month, and note that this means some months will have five issues in them while others have only four, but you will be paid the same amount every month regardless of how many weeks there are in the month. You will also be responsible for creating in-house promos for the magazine as required. Get $20 Off Panda Internet Security 2008. Coupon Code: WOWPISUSD20.
