I want to create a book swapping website, similar to http://www.tauschticket.de www.bookmooch.com http://www.paperbackswap.com but not a clone of any of these. It should definitely be more graphically appealing, and include more pictures of books. There should be at least two advertising sections. Some of the main features i would like to have: A book inventory system, ideally linked to Amazon, i.e., users can link through to Amazon or see a list of books that Amazon recommends. When books are listed the user gets a "ticket". These tickets can be used to order books from other users. A user that sends a book also receives a ticket when the transaction is complete. A transaction rating system, like on ebay would also be good. There should be minimum administrator input, the whole process, upload of books, ticketing, etc should be very automated. Books should be searchable by Keywords, Title, Author, Category. The front page should have a list of the most recently added books, the most swapped books, total number of books in the database. Books should be broken down into categories. I should be able to add and remove categories in the future. Tagging of books should be possible, and a tag cloud on the main page. Each book listed should be unique with its own unique ID,picture and condition and description. However if there is a review for the book and we have 5 different people submitting the book the reviews for the book should show up under all 5 books. A good user interface is also necessary, both front and backend. A reliable and easy to use CMS is a must. Also very important is that the website is search engine friendly, SEO, google page ranking, etc. This will be an ongoing project so I am looking for a long term collaboration with a reliable company/freelancer. I have a lot of ideas that I want to implement eventually but I would like to get the initial website up and running as soon as possible.
