The Career Path of Freelance Programming Jobs

   Google Maps And Calculators

Bidding Time:
05/08/2005 18:00 - 12/08/2005 18:00
Budget:
N/A
Status:
Closed

Job Type:
PHP, Flash, Perl/CGI, XML, ASP
Description:

IMPORTANT NOTE: More specific web page addresses can be found on the attached
document.

We are asking a qualified individual to provide programming for a series of
online tools. They will need to cleanly integrate in our company's new Flash
enabled web site. We will then insert your code into our web site.

You may provide pricing for any combination of the following tools to be used
on our web site:

COORDINATES CONVERTER -

We would like someone to provide programming for a Coordinates Converter tool
similar, but at all identical, to what appears on the following web page: SEE
ATTACHED DOCUMENT. We would like it to appear better than can be found on this
particular web page.

We will also want this tool to allow the user to pull up a map of the area in a
different window using an interface such as Google Maps or MSN Virtual Earth.
Lastly, we would like the user to use this tool with our SITE SEARCH tool.
Information about that project can also be found on this web site. The format of
this tool must also closely match the format of our web site and all other tools
being developed herein.

If you need more information regarding the math and formulas associated with
converting coordinates please visit the following web site: SEE ATTACHED
DOCUMENT.

CELL TOWER SEARCH -

We would like someone to provide programming for a Cell Tower Search tool
similar, but at all identical, to what appears on the following web page: SEE
ATTACHED DOCUMENT. It would allow the user to locate cell towers on a map using
Google Maps.

Our Cell Tower Search tool will differ in that it will not allow a cell phone
user to leave comments. That sort of feedback will not be necessary for our web
site. Unbeknownst to the users of this web site, the database is lacking. It
only uses the FCC database, which for the most part, only includes towers
greater than 200' tall. We would like to use the FCC database (which is
available in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet form), but we would also like to list
those additional towers shorter than 200' marketed by tower owners such as Crown
Castle USA, American Tower, AAT Communications, Global Signal, etc. These
databases would also be available in a spreadsheet form.

The user would be able to search by zip code, city & state, and by coordinates
(if possible). It would also provide a hyperlink to major U.S. cities (similar
to SEE ATTACHED DOCUMENT).

Ideally we would use a more detailed, user friendly and eye catching interface
similar to what can be found at:

SEE ATTACHED DOCUMENT

We would also want the ability of the user to list their tower, water tower, or
rooftop sites if they have any to add to the database.

FREQUENCY BAND LOCATOR -

We would like someone to provide programming for a simple FREQUENCY BAND
LOCATOR tool similar, but at all identical, to what appears on the following web
page: SEE ATTACHED DOCUMENT. This would include researching the FCC web site for
more details.

LEASE CALCULATOR -

We would like someone to provide programming for a Lease Calculator tool
similar, but at all identical, to what appears on the following web page: SEE
ATTACHED DOCUMENT.

Our tool will allow the user to input the following information: monthly lease
($), % escalator (per year or month), and the duration of the lease (in years).
This tool will output the amount the person will collect each year and then
total the lease revenue over the duration of the contract.

GUYED TOWER CALCULATOR -

This calculator will be used to determine the size of land necessary for a
guyed telecommunications tower. It will determine the square footage, the square
size of a parcel (in feet), and total acreage necessary for a guyed tower. The
user will input the following information: height of tower (in feet) and % of
guy radius (between 1% and 100%--which will default to 80%). The calculator
using simple math and calculus would do the rest.
