mySQL. Depending on the programmer, one language might be preferred. This project will have two major sections associated with it. I will need a webpage "crawler" to crawl and store information into a database. This will most likely be a program that could run on a server or a client machine writing "crawled" information to the database. The second part of the project is actually taking the information from the database and displaying it on a webpage. This project will be similar to a lot of the shopping comparison engines out there. - Ability to crawl merchant websites and store selected information into a database. - Ability to populate a website with information such as images, prices, product descriptions, etc. - Ability to operate on templates and template parameters. - Professional and Documented programming required - Crawling scripts must have ability to be modified. - Direct phone and IM contact with the programmer(s) is a must. - Use of .NET, ASP, PHP and maybe mySQL.
